The short version
- Word Taper doesn't ask for your name, email, location or any account details.
- Your game progress, hints and settings are saved only on your device.
- The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may use your device's advertising ID to show personalised ads, but only where you've allowed it, and you can change your choice at any time.
- We use Google Analytics for Firebase to count app installs, measure our own advertising and understand how the game is played. It doesn't tell us who you are.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.

Who we are
Word Taper is made by Zoomies Creative, an independent app studio based in Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Zoomies Creative. This policy explains what information Word Taper handles, why, and the choices you have. It applies to Word Taper on iOS and Android.
Information stored on your device
To make the game work, Word Taper saves the following on your device only:
- levels completed, scores and progress
- how many hints you have
- your settings, such as sound on or off
This information is not sent to us or anyone else. It is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Advertising
Word Taper is free to play and supported by ads provided by Google AdMob. A banner ad appears at the bottom of the screen, a full-screen ad may appear after a game, and you can choose to watch an ad to earn a free hint.
To deliver and measure ads, personalise them where permitted, and prevent fraud, the AdMob software in the app sends some information to Google:

This information goes directly to Google and is handled under Google's own policies. We don't receive information that identifies you personally. You can read more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Your ad choices
- iPhone and iPad: the app asks whether it may track you before your advertising ID is used. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalised using your IDFA. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's Settings > Privacy > Ads (the exact menu varies by device).
- UK, EEA and Switzerland: the app shows Google's consent form when you first open it, so you can choose whether your information is used for personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time from Privacy settings on the app's home screen.
- You can also manage ad personalisation at Google's My Ad Center.
Analytics
Word Taper uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service provided by Google, to help us run and improve the app. We use it to:
- count how many people install and open the app
- measure which of our own ads (for example on Google Ads) lead to installs
- understand, in aggregate, how the game is used, such as how long sessions last and which screens are visited
- record in-app purchases, so we can see which hint packs are popular
The Firebase software in the app automatically sends the following to Google:

We see this information only in summary reports. It doesn't include your name, email address or precise location, and we don't use it to identify you. Google may use it as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Analytics data is kept for a limited period and then deleted automatically.
Your choices on iPhone and Android, described under "Your ad choices" above, also apply here: if you choose "Ask App Not to Track" or delete your advertising ID, it isn't used for analytics either.
In-app purchases
You can buy extra hints in the app. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their terms and privacy policies. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only receives confirmation that a purchase was made so it can add your hints.
Children
Word Taper is a word puzzle for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no sign-up, chat, social features or ways to share personal details.
If you're a parent or guardian and have questions about your child's use of Word Taper, please contact us at zoomiescreative@gmail.com. In-app purchases can be managed using the parental controls on your device.
What we don't do
- We don't sell personal information.
- We don't use any analytics or tracking tools other than Google AdMob and Google Analytics for Firebase, described above.
- We don't request access to your precise location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.
Where information is processed
Information collected by Google AdMob and Google Analytics for Firebase may be processed on Google's servers in the United States and other countries. Google applies its own safeguards to international transfers.
Keeping information secure
Information sent by the AdMob and Firebase software is encrypted in transit. Game data stays on your device and is protected by your device's own security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the Australian Privacy Act, the EU and UK GDPR, or US state privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to how it is used. Because we don't hold personal information about you, most requests can be handled directly:
- Delete your game data: uninstall Word Taper.
- Ad personalisation: use the choices described under "Your ad choices" above.
- Ad and analytics data held by Google: see Google's privacy controls or contact Google.
- Anything else: email us and we'll help or point you to the right place. We aim to reply within 30 days.
If you're in Australia and unhappy with how we've handled a privacy matter, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If Word Taper changes how it handles information, for example by adding a new feature or service, we'll update this policy and the effective date above. For significant changes we'll also give notice in the app or on the store listing.
